Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Pending legal review. This policy describes how Jovillenne works today. It is waiting for final review by our owner and legal advisers, and the wording may change before it is approved.
This policy explains what Jovillenne collects about you, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It covers the Jovillenne website, the Jovillenne app, and the companions Jovillenne, Planera and Kavell (together, the "Service").
1. Who we are
Jovillenne is operated by Kigen Technologies, 34, Triq Wied Ghomor, San Giljan, STJ 2043, Malta ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at support@jovillenne.com.
2. What we collect
Your account
Your email address, the name you give us, your sign-in details, your country and your language. If you add a partner, we keep their email address for the invitation.
Conversations and memory
What you write to Jovillenne, Planera or Kavell and their replies, and the things they remember about you and your wedding so that each conversation carries on from the last. You can see what is remembered and forget any of it in the app.
Your wedding plan and map
The plan items, dates, people and details you add, and the answers you give in a wedding map session, so we can build and keep your plan and your map.
Voice
If you speak to Jovillenne, your voice is turned into text to answer you. The recording itself is not stored; only the text becomes part of the conversation.
Billing
Payments are made through Stripe or Cashfree, depending on your country. They handle your card or UPI details; we never see or store your full card number. We keep your plan, billing country, amounts, invoices and payment status.
Product analytics and logs
Product events, described in section 4, and technical logs (such as IP address, device and errors) that keep the Service running and secure.
3. How we use it
We use your data to provide the Service: to let Jovillenne, Planera and Kavell talk with you and remember what matters, to keep your plan and map, to take payments and send receipts, invoices and account emails, to keep accounts and payments safe from abuse, and, through product analytics, to improve Jovillenne.
We do not sell your data, we do not show you advertising, and we do not use your conversations to train AI models. We process your data to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations (for example, keeping invoices), and for our legitimate interest in running and improving a safe service.
4. Product analytics
To learn which parts of Jovillenne help and which do not, we record product events: short records that something happened in the app and when. The categories are:
- account activation, and a gift redeemed
- your first and later messages sent, and message limits hit (never their text)
- a wedding map created, redesigned or downloaded
- memory: remember, forget and undo
- partner invites, joins and removals
- voice used
- onboarding steps
- billing actions, such as starting, pausing or cancelling a plan
Product events are first-party: we record and store them ourselves, in our own database, and do not send them to an analytics or advertising company.
Each event is linked to your account and stored with your plan and country. Events never contain your messages or memories: for a message we record that it was sent, never its text.
We keep product events for 13 months, then delete them.
Product analytics is on unless you turn it off. You can switch it off at any time with "Help improve Jovillenne" in You → Privacy in the app; from then on, no new events are recorded for you.
Your product events are included in your data export and deleted with your account; we keep only the short summary described in section 6, which is not linked to you.
5. Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers who process data for us under contract and only on our instructions:
- OpenAI and Google, to generate the companions' replies and to turn speech into text;
- Resend, to send emails;
- Stripe and Cashfree, to take payments;
- Google Cloud, which hosts the Service and its database in the europe-west1 region (Belgium).
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Conversations and memory: until you delete them or your account.
- Forgotten items: removed from use at once, and deleted for good after 30 days.
- Deleted accounts: hidden at once, restorable for 30 days, then permanently deleted.
- After an account is deleted, we keep one short summary that is not linked to you or your account: the month you left, roughly how long you used Jovillenne, your country, the plans you bought, which parts of Jovillenne you used, a rough count of your messages and, if you chose one, your reason for leaving. It helps us understand why people leave.
- Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, with your personal details removed once your account is deleted.
- Technical logs: 30 days.
- Product events: 13 months.
7. Your rights
You can see, correct, export and delete your data. In the app, You → Privacy has "Download my data", which prepares a copy of everything we hold about you, and "Delete my account". When you delete your account, everything Jovillenne holds about you is hidden straight away; you can restore it for 30 days, and after that it is permanently deleted.
You can also object to or ask us to restrict processing, or ask any question about your data, by writing to support@jovillenne.com. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority; in Malta that is the Information and Data Protection Commissioner.
8. Partners
On a plan for two, Jovillenne and Kavell keep separate conversations and separate memories. Your partner never sees your conversations or what Jovillenne remembers about you, and you never see theirs. Only the wedding plan items either of you chooses to share are visible to both of you.
9. Gifts
If you buy a gift, we use your name, email and payment details to take the payment and send you the receipt, and the recipient's name, email and your message only to deliver the gift. As the buyer you can see the gift status only: scheduled, delivered or redeemed, and the date. You never see anything in the recipient's account.
If you receive a gift, the plan is yours once you open it; the buyer has no access to your account. If the buyer deletes their own account, the recipient's details are removed from the gift record.
10. Cookies and browser storage
We use essential cookies only: they keep you signed in and protect forms and payments. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you first arrive on the website, your browser stores the campaign tags of the link you came from, the referring site and the first page you visited for 30 days, so that if you sign up we know which campaign brought you. Your language choice is also remembered in your browser.
If you open a partner's link, your browser keeps their follower code for 30 days so it can be applied at checkout. When a follower code is used, we record the code, the partner it belongs to and the purchase, with your email stored only as a one-way hash, as part of our billing records, kept as described in section 6.
11. Children
The Service is for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post any change here with a new date. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
